Local job fair offered at Freedom Festival event

With the 2022 Lansing Juneteenth Freedom Festival just around the corner, the Lansing Juneteenth Committee has been eagerly preparing for multiple fairs and activities, while awaiting the participation of hundreds to thousands of people. These events include a job and community resource fair, along with a health fair, art form exhibits, merchants and food vendors, children’s activities and musical entertainment.

The job and community resource fair, hosted by the Lansing Juneteenth Committee and NAACP-Lansing with support from Capital Area Michigan Works !, will take place on Saturday, June 18, 2022, from 11 am to 3 pm at St. Joseph Park located at 2125 W Hillsdale St, Lansing, MI 48915.

There are more than 30 employers with job openings and several community resource providers. Businesses will be recruiting for — but are not limited to — the following jobs:

● Registered nurses

● Licensed practical nurses

● Certified nurse assistants

● Medical technicians

● Caregivers

● Driving operators

● Utilities

● Mechanics

● Teachers

● Residential technicians

● Family support workers

● Mental health therapists

● Client service specialists

● STEM careers

● Child care directors

● Financial services representatives

Job seekers interested in this event are encouraged to dress for rain or shine. This fair is organized to be a bit more casual compared to other standard job fairs, so casual attire is permitted. Families are welcome to join employers and job seekers during this event , as well.
