Wed-MonQueen’s Platinum Jubilee Trail –Pick up a trail map from the Tourist Information Center in Market Square or Smiggle in Jackson Square and take up the challenge to find nine crown stickers in shop windows around the town center. As you find each one, write down The letter displayed next to it. Once you’ve found all nine, rearrange them to spell out a Jubilee-themed word. One out of all the correct entries entered online will win the prize of an iPad. Free Jubilee activity bundles available from the TIC (closed Thu, Fri and Sun).

Thu9pm for 9.45pm, Castle Gardens, Castle Park -beacon lighting event, one of over 2,000 to be lit across the British Isles and the Commonwealth. Featuring a piper and the Herts and Soul Community Choir. Mayor Cllr Dave Anderson and Deputy Lord Lieutenant Suzy Harvey, of Wickham Hall, to speak.
Fri & Sat12 noon-11pm, Sworder’s Field, Castle Park –After a three-year absence, The Bish Bash festival returns for its 20th event with a weekend of live music and entertainment for all the family.
Sat4.30pm-5.30pm, St Michael’s Church –Jubilee Songs of Praise service.
Thu9.30pm for 9.45pm, Sayesbury Manor –Lighting of beacon.
Fri7pm-10pm, Sawbridgeworth Memorial Hall –The Decibelles. A night of music reminiscent of the 1950s. Tickets from £ 5 from www.sbwhistory.com.
Sun12.30pm-3.45pm, Great St Mary’s Church –Platinum Jubilee Big Picnic Lunch. All are welcome to picnic in the churchyard. Take your own food, blankets, chairs and drinks will be provided, including Prosecco. Event concludes with 45-minute Jubilee Service of Thanksgiving, heralded by church bells ringing out in joy at 3pm.

Thu9.30pm for 9.45pm, Recreation Ground –Lighting of beacon. U3A choir will sing Jerusalem and National Anthem.
Sat2pm-7pm, Recreation Ground –Jubilee Community Picnic. Bring your own food and drinks, or buy refreshments and eats laid on by Women’s Institute, Bear & Eden and Brohmon. The Cork House is providing a bar. Kids’ entertainment and activities include face painting, crown making, pop-up play village, bouncy castle, ice cream, fire engine and steam-driven traction engine. Music from Milla Sweet, Delusions of Grandeur, Shakila K, Jay Williams.
