There are loads of brilliant things to do with the kids in Birmingham over the Bank Holiday weekend. You can dress in red, white and blue and go to a Big Lunch celebration.
Or you can head into the city center for four days of free entertainment to mark the Queen’s Jubilee. Look out for foodie festivals, dance workshops and live music too.
Many of the region’s top attractions are hosting their own Jubilee events and activities over half term too.

Jubilee tea and cake at Cadbury World
On Saturday June 4 and Sunday June 5, families can celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with a special tea and cake experience at the Bournville-based attraction. The Cadbury World marquee will be specially decorated for the occasion with bunting and appearances from Freddo, the Caramel Bunny and family entertainers.
And throughout half term –Saturday May 28 to Sunday June 5 –visitors can join Freddo in his new Festival of Fun stage show, where the famous frog will take families on a journey through the world of music and magic. be happening too –from the 4D Chocolate Adventure zone and the Crunchie Rollercoaster to the Chocolate Making zone and the drumming gorilla in Advertising Avenue. Lovely Jubilee in Brindley place!
There’s live music, street food, table tennis and comfy chairs all weekend in Brindleyplace to mark the Queen’s Jubilee.
The fun starts with a wandering band on Wednesday June 1 and there will be street food Jammin’Pizza, Event Crepes, Beeston Brownies and English Indian. Check out the entertainment in the bandstand on Saturday June 4.

Birmingham Platinum Jubilee Celebration in Victoria Square

Look out for family games and a fun fair in a big Jubilee Celebration taking place in the city center. What’s more it’s free!
Taking place over four days –from 12pm to 10pm on Thursday June 2 to Sunday June 5 –there will be live music, food, DJs and entertainment in Victoria Square. There will be a live stage for local artists and DJs at this family friendly event ..
Safari Street Party at West Midland Safari Park
West Midlands Safari Park, Bewdley, Worcestershire
West Midland Safari Park is hosting its first Safari Street Party with a week-long celebration throughout May half term. Guests are invited to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee from May 28 and June 5.
Look out for Towering Heights Stilt Walkers, the Caribbean Steel Band and Bubbly Heaven in the Discovery Trail from 10.30am each day. And there will be a free craft club in the Safari Academy, where they can make their own safari-themed crowns, have a go at some coloring and look at some amazing animal artefacts. Read more here
Bostin’Jubilee Bash at Black Country Living Museum

The Black Country Living Museum is hosting a Bostin’Jubilee Bash throughout the May half term and the Bank Holiday weekend. Visitors are encouraged to put on their best red, white and blue outfits and join in celebrating past monarchs, from Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee all the way to Queen Elizabeth II’s present day Platinum Jubilee.
You can help prepare for a street party, make some Jubilee crafts and decorate the museum. The street party will take place from 11:30 am onwards each day followed by a grand Jubilee parade at 1:30 pm.

World’s smallest Jubilee party at Legoland Discovery Center

The Legoland Discovery Center in Birmingham is throwing its own tiny, special bash to mark the Queen’s 70 years.
A mini figure of Queen Elizabeth II will be taking to the streets of Miniland Birmingham! See if you can spot her waving with the rest of her royal family from the beacon, her Jubilee carriage and mini figures parading the streets in her honor.
With foot guards marching, 350 patriots waving the nation’s flag, streets lined with bunting, reporters on hand and secret service officers watching nearby, it’s an image we’re sure to see replicated in real life throughout the Platinum Pageant and Trooping of the Color during the extended Bank Holiday weekend.

Big Jubilee Lunch
More than 1,400 people have signed up to host Big Lunches, with events set to take place across Birmingham on June 5. This all began in 2012 to celebrate Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee and was so successful, it’s back for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
New Beginnings Community will host a Big Jubilee Lunch at St Marks Church Hall which is free to attend with no bookings required. Masefield Community Garden will have refreshments and activities available for children as part of their Big Lunch event.
In Solihull, West Warwickshire Sports Complex will host a lunch event for members and non-members alike. Cotteridge Park will also host an event where members of the public are invited to bring their own picnic to enjoy in the park.
Live music and workshops at Resorts World

There will be retro workshops for kids at Birmingham’s Resorts World from June 1 to 4. The whole weekend programme will be dedicated to celebrating the Platinum Jubilee and kids can join the Bonkas Team to learn how to hula hoop, paint some pebble pets, and get glitter tattoos.
On Saturday June 4 there will also be live music by vintage vocal trio, The Bluebird Belles, and on Sunday June 5 there will be entertainment in the World Bar from Goat in a Trolley. Across the weekend, Resorts World will be running a competition for attendees to win the’royal treatment’ including an overnight stay, spa access and evening at Sky By The Water.
Platinum Celebrations with Scotlocks Workshop

Children of all ages can take part in a special workshop at Doe Bank Park to create their own Jubilee-themed crafts from May 30 to June 1. In the week prior, Scotlocks Workshop will be providing materials for youngsters to make crowns, bunting, and flags as well as their own murals.
Spaces for the workshops must be pre-booked and can be done through the Scotlocks Workshop facebook page or through emailing email@example.com and Friends of Doe Bank.
There’s also plenty of ideas if you’re having a do at home, with tips on how to throw your own Jubilee party, the best scones to buy for afternoon tea, the cheapest supermarket decorations for a party on a budget, and a recipe for the famous Jubilee trifle.
Royal Party at Dudley Zoo and Castle

There’s a Royal Party especially for children in the castle grounds at Dudley Zoo. Little ones are encouraged to dress up as kings, queens, princes or princesses to join in the Platinum Jubilee-themed celebrations on Wednesday, June 29, and Thursday, June 30 ..
Entertainment will include Flip the clown, animal encounters with some of the zoo’s furry friends, face painting and Jubilee-themed craft activities. There’ll also be the chance to meet DZC’s costumed mascots Jambi and Monty and have fun on’Ow Bin Ya’ Sands’, the site’s beach area, and there are also lots of adorable new zoo babies to spot across the 40-acre site, including a baby sloth, giant anteater, reindeer and camels calves. Smethwick Heritage Center will be hosting a street party on Saturday June 4 to mark the historic event. From 1.30pm, attendees can enjoy refreshments, games, and entertainment. Tickets to attend cost £ 12.50 and can be purchased by calling 07500 509475.
West Bromwich Street Party

The West Bromwich BID (Business Improvement District) is hosting a huge street party for the Platinum Jubilee on June 4. The free event will run between 11am and 4pm at various locations.

Platinum Jubilee Family Day at Walsall’s New Art Gallery

The New Art Gallery in Walsall is hosting a family day on Saturday June 4. Visitors can enjoy a cuppa and cupcake at the tea party.
They can also make lolly-stick Queen’s guards and platinum paper crowns, plaster cast your own coin design, help to decorate the building with red, white and blue wool, and contribute to the gallery’s Union Jack hand-print bunting and the gallery’s giant collaborative collage inspired by Hew Locke’s Jungle Queen II, in the Gallery’s Collection.
