Easter is full of traditions. For many families, filling Easter eggs and baskets and hiding them around the house is an annual tradition to look forward to.

Another favorite tradition for many local families is a trip to the Kelly’s Country Store. Families from all across Western New York have been coming to this local country store for generations.

This store’s story started back in 1962 with Walter and Grace Kelly selling penny candy at local festivals. Festival goers kept asking them where their store was located. They didn’t have one at the time.

They soon decided to acquire a store, which was only 20 x 20 feet, in trade for their Buffalo home and $ 1. It later became the sprawling Kelly’s Country Store that sits on Grand Island Boulevard today.

Many years later, this place still has the same old-world charm from many years ago but with a much larger inventory.
